We begin with the sketch! I don't enjoy this part because it can be boring pumping out a dozen ideas for things to create, but the end results always make the effort worth it. Some artists will make dozens of these with the rule that they cannot use the first one they created.

The idea is that sketches are the refinement stage, where you figure out exactly what you want the pose to be. I think I left this for a couple of weeks and made three variations, this one seemed to convey the feeling I was aiming for best.
